Being able to teach and support children and young people develop skills and knowledge that they will use throughout their lives is undoubtedly a rewarding career choice. By choosing this career you will have the option to work with any age from preschool through to post-16 education or specialise in SEND education.

The two main routes are working in childcare settings or within schools as a teaching assistant. You will also enjoy secure long term employment in an area where you continue to learn and develop along with those you are supporting and teaching. Progression routes include qualified teacher status and school leadership roles.
