Rapunzels Hair and Nail Studio are looking for a hairdressing apprentice to join their bubbly team in Devonport, Plymouth.
The Apprentice’s Role
The successful apprentice will meet and greet clients, book appointments, shampoo, condition, blow dry and style hair, and colour and lightening using a range of techniques. You will study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection, alongside environmental and sustainable working practices. There is also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.
Please be aware that mobile phones will not be allowed on the salon floor.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week between Tuesday and Saturday, with late night training on a Friday.
Wages: £172.00 per week, based on 40 hours per week.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team. Being a keen team player is essential for any salon apprentice, and you will learn how to demonstrate this consistently to ensure that you promote a positive image at all times.
Building good relationships with clients is a vital part of a successful salon so excellent interpersonal skills are also required.
Personal Qualities
Candidates will need to be enthusiastic about training, have a creative flair and a genuine passion for the Hairdressing industry.
You must be able to portray a positive friendly attitude to customers at all times, and have high standards of hygiene and appearance.
Prior Qualifications
No prior qualifications are required, just a passion for Hairdressing and a willingness to learn.

Some aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site and you will have regular visits every 6 to 12 weeks from your designated assessor from Skills Group, who will monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.
As part of your apprenticeship you will be expected to attend college one day per week, where you will improve upon your knowledge and practical skills and attend master-classes.
