TH March are looking for a Personal Insurances Apprentice Administrative Assistant to join their busy team in Yelverton.

The Apprentice’s Role

You will undertake designated duties within the Personal Insurances Department in accordance with the Company’s requirements.

  • Dealing with incoming central administrative emails – importing, acknowledging and entering ‘Hold cover note’ ready for Underwriters to sign off.
  • Scanning of incoming post
  • Lapse letters and lapsing of old files and records
  • ‘14 day letter’ reminders to chase valuations for online March Plus clients
  • Importing New Business email packs for online March Plus clients
  • Issuing endorsements
  • Setting up new Jewellery Agencies and sending out agency cards
  • Telephone calls to jewellers
  • To handle day to day queries and act as point of contact
  • To maintain accurate files and to ensure copies of correspondence and telephone notes are correctly recorded
  • To successfully broke new business enquiries and insurance renewals and provide a first class service to clients by fulfilling their insurance requirements
  • To handle day to day queries from clients and act as point of contact over the telephone as a back-up for the Account Handler Team
  • To build and maintain relationships with clients, insurers and other staff within the Company
  • To liaise with colleagues to share information about the current insurance marketplace, and to assist them with any insurance queries
  • To comply with service standards at all times, to ensure the best service is provided to clients
  • To provide insurers and underwriters with accurate information to ensure they can assess each risk correctly
  • To maintain accurate files and to ensure copies of correspondence and telephone notes are correctly recorded
  • To maintain clients’ and the Company’s confidentiality at all times
  • To fully understand TH March Policies and Procedures and ensure they are adhered to
  • To comply with the Company Policy on Information Security and Acceptable Use
  • To undertake all other duties as reasonably required and directed

Working Hours: The working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with an hour lunch break.

Wages: National Minimum Wage will be paid, this will vary depending on age.

Holiday: 25 days holiday entitlement (plus bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Past Apprentices

T. H. March have previously supported and taken on many apprentices through Skills Group, most of which have now progressed onto higher level apprenticeships in Business Administration or Customer Service. Many apprentices have also gone onto Team Leading and Management qualifications.

Prior Qualifications

The qualifications required are GCSE grades in English and Maths A*-C (9-4), or the equivalent grades.

The Apprenticeship in Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner consists of:

  • Level 2 Customer Service Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English

You will attend monthly sessions as part of your off the job training throughout your apprenticeship. Most aspects of your training will be delivered on site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme
