Tamar Landscapes are looking for a hard working, reliable Level 2 Customer Service apprentice to join their team.

The Apprentice’s Role

  • To work in a safe, efficient, and professional manner at all times.
  • To assist the office staff with sales, daily administration tasks and invoices.
  • To learn how to promote and to continue to promote the excellence required by the company.
  • To work as directed by the office manager, managing director & any other senior management; typical tasks will include:
  • To contact clients, suppliers, and any other representatives to arrange meetings, visits & deliveries.
  • To assist with all administration with regards to Health & Safety.
  • To assist with any social communications and business development

In addition to working under instruction the employee will be responsible for:

  • To learn and improve all administration systems/procedures within the business.
  • To man the main reception phone line, taking all calls from clients, suppliers, staff members and any other representatives; always communicating and behaving in a professional manner.
  • To keep an up-to-date stock list for all office equipment, uniform, and consumables.
  • To learning how to read, understand, comply, and produce risk assessments.
  • To assist in keeping office and workspace clean and tidy

To carry out all general tasks as follows:

  • To complete a time sheet per week on daily basis detailing works completed, who instruction was given by, and time spent on individual tasks where appropriate.
  • To ensure that works that are beyond the job specification / scope are highlighted to the supervisors and or management.
  • To comply with Health and Safety procedures as expected and instructed.
  • To comply with all Company policies as outlined in the staff handbook.
  • To attend staff meetings when required.
  • To be punctual, reliable and be ready for work 5 minutes before start time.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. This role will include working every Saturday with a day off during the week.

Wages: £180.38 per week, based on a 37.5 hour week. Wages will be increased depending on skills and experience.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Tamar Landscapes has been in business since 2018 and their new sister company, Tamar Landscape and Supplies has started after the company moved to new premises in 2022. Tamar are looking for a Level 2 Customer Service apprentice to join their expanding team.

Skills Required

The potential candidate will be hard working and efficient and being able to use your own initiative is essential to the role.

Personal Qualities

It is important that potential candidates are friendly, motivated and have good time keeping and communication skills.

The candidate must also be able to have own transport to Saltash.

Prior Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent grades A-E (9-2) or equivalent is desired but not essential.

The Apprenticeship in Customer Service consists of:

  • Level 2 Customer Service Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)

You will attend monthly sessions as part of your off-the-job training throughout your apprenticeship. Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
