Safe & Sound are looking for a confident Business Administration Apprentice to join their busy team in Tavistock.

The Apprentice’s Role

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answering telephone and transferring calls
  • Taking messages from suppliers and customers
  • Updating policies and staff contracts
  • Answering emails, and ensuring current procedures are followed and adhered to
  • Serving customers at the trade counter
  • Stock control and maintaining stationary and first aid levels
  • Processing banking, invoicing, and reconcile bank

Working Hours: You will be working 40 hours per week.

Wages: £192.40 Per week, based on a 40 hour week.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Safe & Sound Tavistock Ltd was started by four former colleagues who have more than 60 years’ experience in all things double glazing, and specialise in the installation and repair of windows, doors and conservatories.

Whilst this would be the first apprentice Safe & Sound have taken on with Skills Group, they are excited to invest in a young person's training and support them with their future career.

Skills Required

Excellent telephone manner, and customer service skills. Good communication skills both verbal and written. Must also have knowledge in Word and Excel.

In order to be successful for this role, you will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, punctual, reliable and hardworking.

Prior Qualifications

Qualifications required for this role, include A*-E (9-2) in maths and English or equivalent qualifications would be desirable but not essential.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English

You will attend monthly sessions as part of your off-the-job training throughout your apprenticeship. Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
